“Size Talk” is as popular as ever. Men from Miami to Minneapolis continuously hope a new method to “get a bigger penis” will suddenly emerge out of the vapor.

Despite how far we’ve come as a society in regards to body positivity and self-acceptance, the question gets hundreds of thousands of searches in Google and ChatGPT, is rampantly discussed on Reddit, posted about in Instagram and YouTube discussion in exam rooms and locker rooms…“How do you increase penis length? Is there any way to get longer?”

As a urologist specializing in male enhancement in Miami, I’ve heard it all: from normal guys who are curious and looking for a boost, to big guys who want to get even bigger, to anxious patients who are deeply self-conscious about their perceived lack of size.

I’m going to cover everything that’s available on penis length in 2025, from promising medical studies to sketchy internet hacks, so you can separate fact from fiction.

And yes, we’ll finish with some good news.

The 2023 Penis Size Study That Got Everyone Buzzing

In 2023, researchers at Stanford made headlines by publishing a global review in World Journal of Men’s Health, showing a measurable increase in average erect penis length from 4.8 inches to 6 inches over the last 30 years.

Interesting right? Apparently environmental factors and earlier puberty influenced this trend.

Keep in mind averages aren’t guarantees. Still, this study reignited a worldwide interest in ways to get a longer penis. So let’s take a look at what’s actually being tried, and whether it’s worth your time.

1. Supplements: A Promise in a Pill?

Open your Instagram or TikTok and you’ll see a million ads promising a “bigger, harder, longer” result with just one capsule a day. Take these with a sizable grain of salt. Remember the traveling salesmen from the 1800’s (like the guy in the Wizard of Oz) who used to go from city to city, peddling snake oil cures for every malady under the sun? We’re not too far off here by comparing these magic pills to that quackery.

Most of these pills contain herbs like ginseng, maca, L-arginine, and horny goat weed. These ingredients might actually improve your circulation or libido, but there is absolutely zero credible evidence that they’ll make your penis longer.

Many bloggers have reviewed these products extensively, and even they admit: at best, you get a temporary fuller look due to increased blood flow. At worst, you’re flushing money down the tubes and gambling with your blood pressure.

Verdict: No increased length. Only an illusion.

2. Jelqing and Manual Exercises: Stretching the Truth

Jelqing is a manual technique involving repetitive “milking” motions along the shaft. It’s been around for decades and gets passed around on Reddit like ancient wisdom. It’s a part of the history of penis enlargement we’ve spoken of before.

The theory? Repeated microtrauma stretches the tissues over time.

The reality? There are no medical studies confirming its safety or effectiveness, and plenty of anecdotal reports of nerve damage, bruising, and scar tissue.

Verdict: High risk, no reward.

3. Penis Pumps: Temporary Gains, Not Permanent Ones

Vacuum erection devices (VEDs), aka penis pumps, do make the penis appear longer and thicker on a temporary basis. They’re often used by men with ED to help get and maintain an erection. We recommend them for that purpose at times at UroFill® Clinic in fact.

Pumps work by pulling blood into the penis, creating a momentary engorgement. But once the blood flows back out, so does the illusion of size. Penis pumps are FDA-approved for erectile function but certainly not increased length.

Verdict: Fine before a lovemaking session. Not a long-term solution.

4. Traction Devices: The Tortoise Approach

Medical-grade traction devices like the Phallosan Forte or Penimaster PRO penis traction devices have actually shown the ability to increase length slightly in legitimate studies such as a 2019 study in The Journal of Urology.

When used for 4-6 hours a day, for 6+ months, men can gain a small increase in flaccid and occasionally erect length – about 0.5 to 1 inch.

But let’s be real: that’s a huge time investment, and the device must be worn discreetly (or not so discreetly) every day. Most guys give up before they see results.

Verdict: This one may work if you’re patient and consistent.

5. Suspensory Ligament Surgery: Buyer Beware

This surgical procedure cuts the ligament that tethers the penis to the pubic bone. It can result in the penis hanging lower when flaccid, giving the appearance of added length.

But that length does NOT usually translate to erect size.

Even worse? You may lose stability during intercourse or experience an odd erection angle.

Post-op stretching is often required to prevent scar contraction, and revisions and fixes are expensive and not always possible.

In fact globally-renowned urologist Dr. Paul Perito feels strongly that this is NOT an option any of his many satisfied patients should consider.

Verdict: A risky illusion of growth with real downsides.

Let’s Be Honest: You Probably Don’t Even Need Length

If you’ve read this far, you might be feeling frustrated: “You mean there’s really nothing out there to increase my penis size?” Or, perhaps even relieved because hey, “there’s nothing I can do about it anyway.” Either way, you’re certainly not alone.

The desire for “more” is deeply human, especially in a culture that celebrates size. We’ve all heard that “bigger is better.” But there’s no reason to believe the hype.

A 2018 survey conducted by Men’s Health magazine found that the majority of women, about 70%, said they preferred girth over length when it comes to penis size. Only 18% indicated that length was more important, reinforcing what we see clinically: thickness (girth) matters more than length for overall satisfaction.

I always tell patients: “You don’t have to chase the impossible dream of increasing length when there’s a real, proven, safe solution available to increase the more important measurement, one that’s not only more achievable, but actually more desirable to your partner…you can greatly increase your GIRTH!”

Girth Enhancement: The Game-Changer You Didn’t Know You Needed

Girth, not length, is what most partners actually feel and respond to.

Don’t just take our word for it, we did the research. In our recent post “Penis Length vs. Girth: Which Matters More,” we broke down multiple surveys and clinical discussions that confirm this.

That’s why so many men are turning to girth enhancement with hyaluronic acid fillers like UroFill®.

It’s a simple, non-surgical, in-office procedure with minimal downtime and high satisfaction. We perform these daily at UroFill® Clinic with trained urologists—not unlicensed med spa techs.

Want to feel thicker, more confident, and actually see a change? This is how.

Confidence Is Bigger Than Length

If you’re searching “how to increase penis length,” “how to get a longer penis,” or “how to get a bigger penis,” I get it. You want to feel more confident, you want to be the biggest you can be.

But the truth is, true gains in penis length are rare, complicated, and often come with serious risks.

Meanwhile, girth enhancement is extremely effective, safe, fast, reversible, and increasingly popular.
